Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the factors underlying causes of student attrition in the Accounting Department Maranatha Christian University. Based on earlier research, a "special treatment" that includes the utilization of academic advisors and peer mentor - tutors that can be given to troubled students to be able to reduce the percentage of student attrition. In this study will be performed in its power to describe the steps to be taken in conducting "special treatment", so then calculated and analyzed whether the "special treatment" can reduce student attrition in the Accounting Department Maranatha Christian University. INTISARI Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakangi penyebab terjadinya student attrition di Jurusan Akuntansi Universitas Kristen Maranatha. Berdasarkan penelitian terdahulu, suatu “treatment khusus” yang meliputi pendayagunaan dosen wali dan peer-mentor tutors yang dapat diberikan kepada mahasiswa bermasalah untuk dapat mengurangi persentase student attrition. Dalam penelitian ini akan dilakukan daya upaya untuk mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah yang akan diambil dalam melakukan “treatment khusus” tersebut, kemudian dihitung dan dianalisa apakah “treatment khusus” ini dapat mengurangi student attrition di Jurusan Akuntansi Universitas Kristen Maranatha.
