Abstract
This research titled is Descriptive study of The Five-factor Model of Personality for adolescent in their 15-18 years old, and the purpose is to obtain an overview of the five-factor models of personality and interrelated between the fifth trait, neuroticism, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness at adolescents aged 15-18 years. Design of this research is descriptive. Target of population is adolescents aged 15-18 years and they are in their formal education. The sampling technique used is convenience sampling, with a sample size of 225 adolescents. A study based on the Five-Factor Theory of Robert R. McCrae and Paul T. Costa. The measurement of this research was adapted from the Big Five Inventory (BFI) based on the concept of the above theory. Obtained 45 valid items with a value of correlation between 0:30 - 0748, and reliability for each trait between 0645-0795. The five traits data were analyzed using statistical techniques percentage and correlation of Spearman. The conclusion of this study are adolescents have the trait neuroticism lowest degree than the four other trait, and has a trait openness to the highest degree compared to four other trait. Adolescent who have high degree with trait extraversion category as 56.45% and 59.1% of adolescents have agreeableness trait at a low degree. The highest correlations between agreeableness and conscientiousness trait, equal to 0.503. The theoretical suggestion of this research is conducted to longitudinal studies on how the composition of the fifth degree adolescent trait in adulthood and how each trait affects the degree of stress on individuals in various domains of life. Parents and teachers are suggested to be able to directed the behavior of adolescents with giving the attention to the uniqueness of adolescents in terms of their trait. Besides providing training on adolescents to express their trait appropriately in certain circumstances.
