Abstract

This research was conducted to examine the relationship between husband support and State anxiety among primigravidal pregnant women in the third trimester in Bandung using correlational method with survei techniques. Participants in this research are women who were pregnant for the first time, doing a routine check-up at RSIA "X" Bandung, the third trimester of pregnancy with age 20-35 years. The sample size in the population according to the criteria are 30 women. The instrument used is State-Trait Anxiety Inventory,made by Spielberger with validity start from 0.4 to 0.8. Instrument for measuring husband support was taken from the theory of Social Support by House and Sarafino, with validity start from 0.4 to 0,8. The results showed that the relationship between husband support and State anxiety obtain correlation coeficient 0165, which means there is no relationship between husband support with State anxiety among primigravidal pregnant women in RSIA "X" Bandung, which means the State anxiety appeared by another factors besides husband support.
