Abstract
Salah satu persyaratan penting yang diperlukan dalam suatu struktur pondasi bangunan adalah karakteristik media tanah yang terdapat di area tersebut. Secara garis besar, tanah hanya terbagi dua menjadi tanah butir kasar maupun butir halus. Namun pada kenyataannya, kondisi dilapangan memperlihatnya kondisi yang berbeda. Pada kedalaman-kedalaman dibawah permukaan tanah tidak lagi dijumpai material murni, baik pasir, lempung, maupun lanau. Yang ada merupakan material campuran baik lempung pasiran, pasir lempungan, pasir lanauan, maupun lanau pasiran, dan sebagainya. Hal ini mempengaruhi perilaku material, tidak lagi berperilaku sebagai material asli yang membentuknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari perilaku tanah residual tropis baik agregat kasar maupun halus yang dipadatkan. Untuk agregat kasar pengujian yang dilakukan meliputi specific gravity (Gs) dan analisa ukuran butir. Sedangkan untuk agregat halus dilakukan pengujian kadar air, specific gravity (Gs), analisa ukuran butir, hidrometer, atterberg limits. Karena merupakan material terganggu, maka kedua material tidak dilakukan pengujian index properties. Berdasarkan pengujian awal yang dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan sementara bahwa perubahan perilaku material butir kasar menjadi perilaku material butir halus terjadi pada komposisi material campuran 25% tanah merah Lagadar dan 75% pasir Padalarang. ABSTRACT One of the key requirements needed in a foundation structure of the building is characteristic of soil media at certain area. Broadly speaking, the soil is only divided into coarse grain soil and fine grain. In fact, the condition of the field showed different conditions. In the depths below the ground surface, there is no pure material, either sand, clay, and silt. In fact, there is a mixing materials sandy loam, silty sand, silty sand, and sandy silt, and so forth. This condition affects the behavior of the material, no longer behave as the original material that formed it. This research aims to study the behavior of tropical residual soil both coarse and fine aggregate compacted. For coarse aggregate testing was conducted on the specific gravity (Gs) and grain size analysis. As for the fine aggregate testing moisture content, specific gravity (Gs), grain size analysis, hydrometer, Atterberg limits. Because the material is disturbed, then the material was not tested index properties. Based on initial testing is done, it can be concluded that the change in behavior of the material while coarse grains become fine grain material behavior occurs in the material composition of red soil mix of 25% and 75% sand Lagadar.
